Thermal desorption and head space injection minimize sample handling, do not require the use of solvents and reduce the time of analysis. o Cheap passive samplers with a fast and simple fabrication procedure. o VERAM permits a multidirectional sampling differing from radial or one-way sampling devices with encapsulated solid phases.

The method uses readily available reagents (iodine, trilfuoromethylsuylfonamide, diacetoxyiodobenzene) and light to insert a sulfonamide moiety into a C-H bond. the method has been successfully use in the preparation of various APIs (memantine, rasagiline, sertraline). Method takes place in mild conditions and allows avoiding the use of transition metal catalysis and multiple-steps procedures. Partners are sought for the joint development of commercial applications of the method.
Universitat de València posted this:Nanocomposites for electrochemical supercapacitors The new materials have the following advantages over existing materials in supercapacitor’s sector: Supercapacitive properties: they have specific capacitance values much higher than those obtained by commercial nanostructured carbon electrodes. Low cost: obtained by a chemical process of a single stage, with a single precursor, at low temperature, and highly available, non-polluting and low cost materials. Good cyclability: testing in cyclability is promising in terms of electrochemical and mechanical stability. In parallel to its advantages as supercapacitors, the nanocomposites show the advantages associated with the following additional properties: Giant magnetoresistance, GMR: this property is observed at room temperature, and high magnetic fields are not needed. Source of carbon nanoforms: based on the nanocomposite, can be obtained a mixture of carbon nanoforms consisting of nano-onions and multi-walled nanotubes.

The developed acene precursors are hydrogenated acenes and are stable upon storage. They can be prepared in several synthetic steps using two catalytic key preparation steps. The precursors can be deposited onto surfaces and submitted to annealing to generate the linear acene. This strategy afforded the first-ever preparation of undecacene.

The developed initiators trigger the curing of resins by irradiation with low-intensity visible light, while providing polymers with good control of chain length. In addition, through decomposition of the initator, the cured material presents a different colour than the uncured resin.
